Turkey tail is “planted” on a tree using wooden dowels carrying turkey tail mycelium. The dowels are made by propagating a mushroom in the top mushroom laboratory of our partner Mycelia in Belgium. The Mycelia laboratory was founded in 1985 by mycologist Magda Verfaillie, and its main activities are the production of mycelia, research and development. In the laboratory, chaga is grown and propagated on wooden dowels, ready for planting.

- Weight: 1.25 g ± 0.2 g
- Material: Birch wood and mycelium
- Length: 40 mm ± 1 mm
- Diameter: 8 mm ± 0.2 mm
- Other: Dowels have grooves, are not treated before inoculation, store between 2-4°C
Mycelium is extremely sensitive to transportation. Our biggest enemy is temperature. When mycelium is transported in warm conditions > 5°C (41°F), it will start to grow.
